Make room on the sofa, I need to perch
For a while, it’s the only place
In this place I can feel safe anymore

I know I have the bedroom and in it
The bed I’ve been sleeping on,
But I can’t go back to the room, not yet

I need to rest, really rest, and a room
Named for a bed isn’t enough,
A bed is for just sleeping, maybe eating

And yes, screwing, I’m not doing that,
Worst of all there’s no resting,
Which is what I’m after, so move over

This is the living room, isn’t it? Yes,
A room for us both to live in,
And without rest I’ll make it a dying one
