I wake up with a lot
on my mind,
thinking about things
from
the day before.

I’m not ready to
leave my bed and
face the crowd.
I reach for the
writing tablet
on the nightstand
for a companion.

Like being on a date
with my thoughts,
I reflect
and
hope
someone else
will understand.
