It’s All About the Butterflies

    “What’s your secret?” Ken’s friend asked.
    “Butterflies!” Ken replied.
    When something bad happens—sour milk at breakfast or a terrible medical diagnosis—Ken points upward. “Oh, look! Pretty butterfly.” When he’s very lucky, there really is a pretty butterfly right there in the sky, fluttering his cares away. When there’s not, he just thinks about other butterflies he’s seen since he was a little boy running through the fields with one of those silly nets.
    Sometimes, rarely, even the butterflies can’t help. That’s when Ken waves the butterflies away and pulls the covers over his head to block the sky.
