Silence

To outsmart history, we must fracture
the moving hand of ambition and toss the glass.

We must sit upon the stage and let the silence be the show,
to discomfit those who paid to view our joy
but never aid in it,

and when they shift in their seats
to the tune of their shame
we must fight the urge to dance,
though it rings in our blood.
