Perceptions

Duane L Herrmann

Computers sing serenely
   as fingers move in bliss,
the hum is “Om....”
   or a distant ox.
The ring of phones
   are distant temple bells
and fellow workers
   are wrapped in prayer
muttering their meditations
   devotedly.
Fragrant candle incense
   fills the air, while
the whirl of prayer wheels
   can sometimes be heard
and life moves on
   serenely.
This world is
   as one perceives.
