Alarm Notice

I’m in a funk at the moment,
and have no clue on how it came about,
or when it will end.
Picking up tree debris after a rainstorm
did not change the mood.

Sitting outside listening to cars in the distance,
and birds chirping from the tree did not help.
Reading a book was of no benefit.
There was no on or off switch,
at least none that I could find.

Maybe it was because of it being an odd numbered day,
or maybe the world that had gone so wrong,
and I could not see enough right taking place.
Maybe it was me, and I had just given up.
You will know if you don’t see me again.
