Atomic weapons kill people even when not used

Europe is in disarray, Ukraine is doomed
city after city is being demolished to ashes
millions of people have fled the country
they are living as refugees in nearby nations
thousands of people have died
do you know why?

The fight is between a mouse and a lion
that is pounding blows after blows
but cannot vanquish the tiny one
while it thought can do it in days.
What a shame hey powerful nation
you are morally dead.

There are powerful supporting nations
they are helping with weapons, sanctions
but do not attack the lion
as it has huge arsenal of nukes
threating every now and then
to attack with them causing catastrophe.

Who will bell the big cat?
Everybody fears nuclear war,
this has emboldened the mad king
to punch again and again
on the little mouse
idle nuke is the cause of one-sided game.
