A Losing Battle

Traveling down the interstate,
the latest message board along the road read,
“If you booze and cruize, you lose,”
but if they lost, then who won,
the ones not drinking,
but they were dead wrong about me
as I sat in the passenger seat
with my designated driver on my left,
with me drinking the booze and still cruising,
soaring high above the clouds.
At some point, I would have to come down,
but I was fine where I was at,
wherever that was,
on my way, to destinations unknown.
