whole.
this word floats
on the edges of my mind,
whenever I wander back
to the sea of consciousness.
wrapped inside
clothes that act as
shields,
for the
whispers of touch
are not to be
heard by my skin.
all because
my skin is
a snake’s,
but I cannot moult
& it is now
worn by my mind.
can’t you
open your eyes
to glimpse
the markings that
were used
to decorate my body?
well, i
yearn for the ghost
of your touch,
for the feathery
touches your mouth
makes on my skin,
for the blanket
your arms provide,
on this deformed skin.
