The Daily Rut

I am caught in the web of society,
the daily rut of life’s routine.
Like a washing machine, every day
is the same—a repeat pattern of actions
that have become so mundane,
so boring. But I keep doing them
out of necessity, as the whip of society
drives me forward. Like a slave
in my own home, a slave to my
own life—feels like no life at all.
