Good Story

One day I’ll be dead and done with it, life
that is, at least the living-of-it part,
what follows is death but at Sunday School
they confuse me with their talk of life to
come, eternal to boot, and to make it
worse they say to live eternally I
must die first, it sounds like a good story
but it’s hard to believe, there’s just no proof though
at church they swear that the Bible shows it
but I’ve got to take it all on faith, that’s
the catch and I’m ten years old, I used to
believe in Santa Claus and the Easter
Bunny and the Tooth Fairy but still they
make more sense than religion. Praise the Lord.
