on the banana seat
of a Stingray bicycle
with the V-shaped handle
bars and the paperclip shaped
sissy bar on back
Didn’t matter if the
girl was riding because
the boy behind her got
to hold the rifle that was
a BB gun
Somewhere above
was the Goodyear blimp
Somewhere below
were a pair
of adolescent nihilists
Shooting at a corporation?
Or just a big balloon?
(Did we know the difference
Did we care?)
Just like girls
were sometimes
up front
And boys
sometimes
in the back
