with each sale of an SUV so I’m prepared. Well actually
I’m not prepared. I don’t know how to shoot and though
the medical assistants have planned a trip to a shooting range
I don’t really think it appropriate that I go along. Yes, I’d go
for the Wine & Cheese reception about wound healing and
the Home Town After Dark program on CPR and Narcan and
even for the Girl’s Night Out ceramics and cocktails event
but who knows, there may be workplace issues I’m not aware
of, perhaps between Marie and Jeanette or Jeanette and
Christine and I wouldn’t want to referee or be expected to
manage a gunshot wound in situ. Or—and this is quite
possible—perhaps the issue would be with me, late nights
or slow workdays or I’ve been offensive in a multitude
of ways I’ve not self-edited. I’d be afraid I’d drop a gun
on my foot, as the police officer mom did on Career Day
at my Goddaughter’s Day Care making for a highly dramatic
and memorable presentation and a large hole in a bay window
(fortunately no one was walking past on the street) and
unlike the FBI agent dad she did not shoot herself or anyone
else in the foot. But I digress. The SUV itself is lethal weapon
enough for pacifist me.
