so they will believe she deserved

to be supposedly raped
while doing her late-night job
as a bartender, where there
is clear video evidence of the suspected

rapist, your defendant, trespassing
into the women’s bathroom, attacking
her in the stall, raping her,
his DNA on her clothes, in the rape kit,

while your defendant still denies
any wrongdoing? For the record,
I don’t know the rapist or you—his attorney—
I have never been to the restaurant

where the supposed crime took place,
yet here I sit, subpoenaed to testify
against a woman I met once
because your defendant’s private investigator

saw us two years ago eating lunch?
