I have some good news and some bad news.
I’ll start with the bad news.

I know
you were only by my side
for the chilling of my warmth,
when the temperature dropped
and we left scars under frost,
our hardened ideas
pushing past each other
and out to their respective seas
at the ends of the earth, where we stand
we know which direction the other faces,
and that you’ll vulture
back around again
for the emotional scavenge.
The cold realization
my heart could have gone
to dust for you
I almost became stone.


Now for the better part.

The sea winds whisper
