They wait for his coming
although his greetings were only met with hurled stones,
and vehemently curse the planets
for not heeding their remonstrance.

They crucify their peace
by murdering girls and boys,
then pen their grief on sheets
of innocent, unburied blood.

They’re bent on assassinating every creed
that does not agree with what they have not
alive entombed,
and perennially shut down every gate
that might receive the treads of the awaited one.

They swear upon what they hold as holy,
which they had written and then diluted,
that the world was created for them
and every breath that is not theirs
is outlawed.
