Camping in the Foothills w/ Beauty

This landscape is quite sexy. Almost an aphrodisiac. he whispered.

She was no longer holding his hand. In fact, she stepped away from him, her eyes caressing the prairie before her, the blossoming flowers; then the azure lake calm with peace and satisfaction; and finally the foothills in the distance growing stronger.

You’re the sexist thing out here, he said, joining her and immediately regretted his statement. How trite, he thought, how stupid. Nonetheless, he pulled himself behind her and placed his arms around her waist.

She did not flinch, but she did not lean into him. He did not see her sudden smile, a new brightness in her eyes.

And you, she said finally, are the handsome man in this wilderness and she did not regret her statement at all. She reached for his hands at her waist and pulled them back towards the beauty surrounding them.
