Dad hid behind the latest murder
on a New York City tabloid

Substitute teacher   PhD drop out
40-year-old basement dweller
I finally made it Mom as a community
college Professor and poet published
in a spine-backed journal

Just why now? When I have time
& stability to feed and sit with you
are you telling me to Go Go

even if your dementia has already
robbed you of movement and speech

Go Kenneth   Go

But I don’t want to
Even after you’re gone

Don’t worry
I’m going

Will come back for a little visit
