Because the truth is so boring,
and I didn’t want to lose him.

I made myself ten years younger,
and he told me he was five years
younger, but he didn’t care.

I’m in pretty good shape,
and we did all the fun things.

We went waterskiing, dancing,
snow skiing, and, finally, a marathon.

So here I am, in the cardiac unit
of Gloucester Hospital.

And where is he?
Probably romancing another sucker.

I know I’ll never see him or my money again,
but it was worth every penny of it.
