Gary Likes Peanuts

When I first used to step
out my door and
Gary the Groundhog
was in the area
all I would see
would be
four little legs
trying to carry him
away as fast as possible

BUT
Since he became used
to me putting out
food for him
he now waits at a
respectful distance
until I finish
and is eating before
I reach my door

He particularly
likes peanuts
sits up in the air
like a squirrel
eating them

The feeding of
him, the deer,
squirrels, raccoon,
chipmunks, birds
and the indoor
Fala the Wonder Dog
Coco the Wild Ever-Kitten
and Ninja the Stealth Cat
gets expensive

But the IRS won’t
let me claim them
as the dependents
that they are
