SEEING TREES

Today
I noticed
the Trees.
They were Brown
and Green.

This may not seem
remarkable to you,
but, to me,
noticing Trees,
or even seeing
Brown and Green
was a wonderful thing.

Yesterday,
I only saw
black and gray,
so imagine the way
it felt to me
to see those trees.

I breathed in the scent,
and went on my way,
thinking:
today the trees...
what of tomorrow?

Who knows,
maybe tomorrow
I’ll even see
flowers.
