Squashed by the road,

Mangled and bleeding,
Almost unidentifyable
Was the victim.

The only movement exhibited
Was brought by
The rush of wind
As speeding cars flew by.

They never stopped
To help the victim
Or report the body.

Crushed bones left to crumble,
Flesh remaining to rot
And leave a rust-colored
Stain on the cement.

A significany member of his society
Now lays untouched
By the people who destroyed,
They only revolt at the sight.

And they never stopped,
