DIANNA’S PLACE
C Ra McGuirt, April 14, 2008
Expressions are in bloom down at Dianna’s place
I can’t say what first drew me to Dianna’s space
I was on my way to buy some graphic lit
And figures out of modern myth when I caught sight of it
Her sign amused me, saying “Check our bloomers out”
Though I knew it sold no lingerie, I chanced to step inside
And found a haven which I haunt unto this day
And visit once a week or so, if only just to hide
From the world for some glad time and see my friend
Which is what Dianne’s become, though she’s not the kind
One sees each day or even every week for sure
But always seems to care about what’s on my worried mind
Plenty are the plants there in Dianna’s place
Plus sweet beads of scented soy I learned to love so well
Every smell seems saleable in Dianna’s space
If they find the scent of Joy, that’s where it will sell
Down on 100th Avenue near Wide Choice Books
Is where to find Dianna’s place, a verdant little nook
Where you can purchase Harmony or Ocean Mist
Chocolate and Clarity, and can be kissed
By the subtle scent of Zen, and find an ear
Instead of just another clerk with frippery
Every now and then I get a loving hug
And give one in return; Dianne is special unto me
So if you find yourself at odds in Grande Prairie
Up in Northwest Alberta, then take yourself downtown
And walk by all the tattoo joints and bridal shops
You will find Dianna’s Place, the sweetest store around
I was on my way to buy some graphic lit
When I saw Dianna’s place, and now I visit it
When I can, to get some fine camaraderie
The beads are just 5 bucks; Dianne is priceless unto me.
