The common man is content with a roof,
Simple sustenance, clean water and air,
To be taught the ways of the world,
Someone to tend to him when he aches,
And someone to love.

Others who clamor electronic
Gadgets, fast cars or fancy adornments,
Have an unrequieted fear that
Without those excesses they would
Be just the common man.
