than two months ago I
was shitting at least ten times
a day. I
had gotten used to it
in fact
my time in there became useful -
phone calls
book reading and
thinking
all came on the toilet.

with
the medicine now I
can barely go once,
I can’t even have the joy of passing gas.
now I find myself just
going to the toilet out of habit
to read
or think
or just get away.

people will follow you anywhere
unless
you’re going to
defecate
so now
I
just go to sit
relax
and listen to the sweet sound of running water.
