now when I look in the mirror
my rib cage sticks out
it hasn’t always been this way
in fact
a year ago today
I could barely see my feet
or my dick if it was soft.

a year’s worth of malnutrition
disease
and stress
take a toll on my body.

apparently I look much better though
that is what they tell me.

I feel like shit
or maybe
I just need to shit.

it gets harder and harder to tell.
