Breathing through hollowed-out pens from the tabletop,
passing the night at the speed of light depression,
we punch the keys that strike the levers
that string our livelihoods together.

We step out to devour a nicotine snack
and play catch with ideas and grandiose plans,
and try to grab a meteor from the sky
but it burns up before it can hit our hands.
