Michael de Mare bio
Michael de Mare grew up on a dairy farm in rural upstate New York. He joined the Navy at the age of 18 but was sent home after hurting his legs. He got a B.S. in computer science at Clarkson University and worked software engineering jobs both in New Jersey and in the Silcon Valley. In 2003 he went back to graduate school eventually earning a PhD in computer science from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2010. He taught for a year at SUNY Institute of Technology before completing his degree. He has published fiction in The Cynic Magazine and Down in the Dirt magazine and is the author of the collection Stealing Qubits. Dr. de Mare is also the author of The Russian Code.
