It a special privilege, you said, to have seen
your daughter grow to where she is now,
at marriage’s verge, career as a psychologist.
There is something so accurate in that,
turns my soul into a river, endless and deep,
seeking to remember all the human bonds,
the passage of our numinous life, the moon
between mother and daughter, parent, child,
seeking to connect here, now, and beyond,
and I’m part of this, and I speak of all of this.
