I looked up to the blinding sun
seeing stars and planets
meteors and moons
whirling through skies
colliding exploding
taking no notice of each other
yet one meteor might break through
it takes only one
ripping through our atmosphere
crashing down on people’s heads
wrecking cities countries and continents
slamming the ocean over shores
inundating streets
turning people to dust
drowning millions
but I would find you
I would search under the avalanches of water
climb over every mountain range of debris
lift each boulder
squirm into every crack and crevice
dig until my arms fell away
until my fingers bled torrents
