A Saving Compliment

One fine morning
I was dressed to kill

myself

I was walking
down the street

not thinking of
much but how
today was the day
I finally found the outfit
that I would be able
to do the deed in.

I happened to glance
at a homeless gentleman
who looked at me and said

“how do you feel?”

I replied with an honest answer:
“not too hot...”

His eyes got real big
and he was staring at
me like I was crazy
and he said

“well you look great.”
