how is it that a dog,
sleeping sounder than any antiseptic adult
can snap so sudden to action-
for an angry ass-licking,
out of as I’ve said deepest slumber
an explosion;
a fire flash
of muscular motion
& back as quickly
to joint-healing sleep
only snorting or kicking sporadically
you would think an ass-lick
would be more of a slow build-
like The Beautiful Game
but my dog is no Ronaldinho
