12 gauge broken down at his feet
Saturday night special in his boot
even a Derringer up his sleeve
just like Jock Mahoney’s Yancy

he wants the coffin lid left unlocked
the earth on top left loosely packed
so he can see if the Devil will come and
try to pry them from his cold dead fingers
