Living on a Prayer

Strapped down to my hospital bed
for fear I might attack the nurses
after losing my sanity’s control,
my eyes gaze at the barred window.
My ears can’t hear the cars.
I ask if I will ever leave past those far buildings.
I still ask, even without a response.
