She Lay        Up Under Him

She lay        up under him
Eyes closed real tight
Fist knuckle-balled up
Shame picked her heart
Disgust stirring her gut
He used her stiff body
Moaning then grunted
Spoke hushed obscenities
Until he had done it
She snatched the money
To feed two tiny tummies
Then lay        down that night
Cold, stiff as a mummy
Moans and grunts echoed
His odor still hunting.
