in the time of flux

when most everything
and everyone

slept in the
bed of limbo (sleeping
as in paralysis), poets
with their
poetry and

prophets
with their
prophecies, all
slept together on the floor

with the dogs
and their
fleas.

This was about the same
time all that
humping the leg business
started.
