The Curve of Arctic Air

Waist deep in gradual treasures,
an oboe ascends the twitch and hush of Finland,
consuming wholly the second air.

Villagers and blue glaciers are prone to forgive,
receiving justice and resuscitation
in an equipoised curve.

A string of gulls reclaims the sky
as deerhounds ponder a mawkish fisherman
nettled, prodigious back high.

Like Quasimodo, he is holding his breath,
waiting for the seasons to change
into a ruby throne and scepter.
