on a rooftop;
Once, watching flood waters
rising, rising...

Once, for friends and family
a fading hope;
Once, for an imminent rescue,
fat chance...

Once, TV audiences wringing
their hands;
Once, we were all equal under
the same flag...

Once, we could look forward to
better tomorrows;
Once, it was one for all and all
for one...

Once, it would take more than a
hurricane to...
Ah, but we cannot blame Katrina
for everything

At least the Superdome makeover
is looking good...
