There’s a club dubbed “The Abyss”
where everyone who’s anyone
dances on the edge,
where terrorist and general
separatist and loyalist,
leftist and conservative,
elbow one another,
high on jingoistic near beer
and solidarity’s addicting upper,
cultural-ethnic superiority,
where war and death
prance cheek to cheek
to an orchestration so enthralling,
with a culmination so invigorating,
it’s left all caterwauling,
“From crematoria of Europe,
    to killing fields of Rwanda,
    Syria, Cambodia,
    we’re dancing at The Abyss”
