THE GROOM’S NIGHTMARE
Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal
In all truth
there are no brides
to cut a rug with.
But there are plenty of crows.
They stand on
branches shrouded
in mystery. Their
black feathers flop in the wind.
The sky turns
gray and the crows
disperse like mad
brides running from the church.
