Forgot my watch
        this morning.
Left it on the table
where I usually stash it,
a casual habit now remembered.
Don’t really need it.
My phone has a clock.
The car has a clock.
There is even an almost-right
clock on the courthouse downtown.
The bank has a clock.
They are all over the place.
But somehow it is not the same.
They all tell me
        what I need to know,
yet none of them gives me
        the time
that is mine.
