Along life’s superhighway
lie the shattered corpses
of those not quick enough
or willing
to dart aside.
To mend those battered psyches,
no paramedics will arrive,
for on this desolate stretch
only gawking tourists
are flying by,
leaving a wing or two
of what was once a life
fluttering in the breeze.
