Sara Ann’s Philosophical Shortbread

Three parts butter—
rub with one part
powdered sugar
a pinch of salt
and enough flour
to make a dough.
Press into
greased pie pan.
From the center
draw out with dots
a deep spiral
of universe.
Bake 300
thirty minutes.
Cool and cut out
in 24ths,
each marked piece
left to wonder
where it fits into the All.
