Arranged Like Fingers

My new girlfriend interrupted
our kissing on the couch,
whispered in my ear that
she needed to show me something
before we went any further.
She moved off my lap, reached
down and took off her shoe
and sock. See? she said.
I looked, blinked, then stared.
Her toes were arranged like fingers;
the big toe in the middle with two others
off to each side in descending order
of size. Holy shit, I said. That’s really weird.
I know, she answered with her head bowed,
but would you still like to continue this
in the bedroom? Of course, I told her
before a quick kiss on the cheek,
but can you put your sock back on first?
