i’m already having a rough go of it
mentally,
but you doing whatever dance this is
only makes it worse;
don’t know what’s going on—
but you’re making me feel inadequate,
needy, unloved, unappreciated,
stupid for caring,
and simply taken for granted;
i know you struggle with your own
mental battles
which is why i try to give you space when
i sense you need it but i never did anything
wrong
all i ever did was care
i don’t understand why you’re treating me
like this—
they say silence is golden
not like this
you make me regret opening up my heart again,
making myself vulnerable enough
to let you in;
i told you things i haven’t even told my mother
yet you’ll treat me like a perfect stranger?
why?
i don’t fathom why people decide to become
ghosts when they’re still living,
and i don’t know why you cannot speak to me;
i was only ever there to be a friend but maybe you
prefer being alone.
