If anyone here says, ‘suck it up, it’s normal,’
I swear to God I’ll go home.

He said the other guy threw the first punch,
and I stayed up late after my shift so I
wouldn’t nightmare about it.

I can’t use the bathroom here because I’ll be wasting your precious time,

and there are seashells all over my floor but only
the kind that remind you that something used to live inside them.

I can’t in good conscience
pick up somebody’s house to walk away with

when I keep dreaming that somebody—
once it was Steve Buscemi—
is cutting into mine.
