these bans are extreme

i refuse to be oppressed
my destiny as a woman
is to be more than a puppet
submissive lamb led to the slaughter?
that will never be me.
i am the wild, free bird you will never
tame;
i am the one that will fight for the voiceless
because you may feel comfortable
i am not—
don’t like the idea of anyone losing their rights
simply because they chose the unpopular
decision of abortion,
because it is obvious what they’re doing;
they want women to all be convicted felons so none
of us can vote—
i will never stop fighting
for women to having their own choice
in this matter
regardless of what you believe these bans are extreme,
and you cannot believe that this isn’t evil;
on some level you must know it is
yet i hear the silence all around me—
it is so deafening i wonder if you are even
cognizant of what is going on?
regardless, i will fight;
no matter what names or things you call me
in the end all that matters is the lives that will be
saved in abolishing these bans.
