Life on plane

M.L. Fenton

This is what alcoholism
Looks like on me

A life on constant plane- a hide in plain sight.

I read Bill w’s book
(Great read, btw)
My life has not become unmanageable

My alcoholism is perfectly manageable,
Cloistered even.

I don’t miss work or
family get-togethers

Even as my mountain of wine boxes
grow

thinking of erecting a garden shed
out of them.
(Something I saw on Pinterest)

You know, so I have somewhere to drink.
I’m just so amusing sometimes.

There is no rock bottom for me;
I’ve never had a DUI
or alcohol poisoning
I never woke up in the gutter
or got into a fight

Sounds like that drinking game. For me its
dissolution not destruction;

My world has become so small,
My Interests limited.
My emotions a flat line
My surroundings so ugly

Sometimes my eyes open, to the light
And see the grime on the Windows

I want to surrender myself to a higher power
But he never listened to me
