It’s Only Possession

My girlfriend agreed to adopt
a retired police dog named Roy.
When the cops dropped him off
at our house, the damn dog ran
straight to my sock drawer, barking
like they crazy till they read me my rights.

My lawyer says it’s only possession;
is pretty sure he can get me off
with a fine and community service,
but, still, I’m not giving that bastard Roy
any dog biscuits or take him out
for a walk anytime soon.
