disgraced
tarred and feathered
through the fora

Her cries warned
the wretched
of their common woe

they nailed Her memory
high up
across
the boards

heart aflame
She yelled
portents of calamity

they mobbed Her
shamed Her
for evil speech
empty words

She took an axe
and a torch
to save them

they ambushed Her
stripped Her
abandoned Her
and revelled till the end

She might as well
have been wrong
and died unaware
not
alone
